About me

I'm a Bioinformatician from Uganda, Africa, mostly working with large-scale pathogen genomic data.

My job is to develop automated bioinformatics tools and workflows, analyses and interprete genomics data, develop and manage genomics databases and portals using modern methods and technologies.

    Key activities: Developing and maintaining an in-house metagenomics analysis pipeline; Managing a database of NGS data and conducting data transfers/sharing with partners; Analyzing genomic data for HIV-1, SARS-CoV-2 and Mpox virus (MPXV); Contributing to scientific papers.

    Key activities: Developing an in-house pipeline for analysis of RNA-Seq data; Providing bioinformatics support to students and researchers working on pathogen and Human genomics data; Integrating microbiome, metabolomics, demographics, and clinical history data; Contributing to scientific papers; Coordinating the introduction to bioinformatics training.

    Key activities: Contributed to the development of the African Genomics Medicine and the African Microbiome Portals; Developed an in-house pipeline for analysis of 16S rRNA microbiome data; Analyzing genomic data for HIV-1, SARS-CoV-2 ; Teaching assistant on several iterations of the introduction to bioinformatics training and the intermediate bioinformatics training; Participated as teaching assistance on the MSc.
